History

KUTIGHAT MAHAKALI PATHSALA is a government-sponsored school situated at Baranagar in the district of 24 parganas(north),near ferry ghat.It was established on 24th April,1906 to promote the women literacy.In the begining the name of the school was "DAKSHIN BARANAGAR BALIKA VIDYALAYA"(till 1913).SRI SHYAMACHARAN MUKHOPADHYAY and SRI JATINDRANATH CHOUDHURY were the founder of the school.At first  the school started in a rented house. The present building was founded by the then Education Minister honourable RAY HARENDRA NATH CHOWDHURY on 24th April, 1960.The school was recognised as a High School by WEST BENGAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION on 1st January, 1963. Now  it is a Govt. sponsored Girls High School.The learning medium is Bengali.
