
Alambazar Mahendranath High School, a West Bengal Board of Secondary Education recognised & Government of West Bengal Sponsored boys' school is situated at Alambazar, near Dakshineswar Railway Station in North 24 Parganas, Kolkata - 700035. It is one of the oldest schools in Baranagar. The school was started in 1949 by Amiya Banerjee & a few lovers of education in an open porch supported by big iron pillars and beams of about 100 years old temple ground with some poor children of the locality. 1953 is considered as the year of its establishment. It has now a well-equipped new building approached by all weather roads.The school has V to X Class. The facilities provided here by the Govt. of West Bengal in disciplined manner include Text Books, Mid-day Meal, Medical Check-up, 450 Books in Library, Disabled-friendly Ramps & Social Awareness Programmes. Some of the renowned teachers of this school were Dinesh Mitra H.M, Sudhendu Kishore Bhattacharya H.M, Rabindranath Chakraborty H.M, Balai Chakraborty, Indra Kumar Sarkar, Kumud Ranjan Bhattacharjee, Manindranath Kanungo and others who helped in the development of this institution. The school aims at all-round development of all the students in holistic atmosphere of student-teacher-guardian relationship.
