History

Bonhugly High School was founded in the year 1954 as a two class School. Within the next couple of years, it got permission to continue as a four class Junior High School. Gradually the School spread its wings and catered to nearly 700 students. Thus, it was awarded permission for a XI Class School within the next couple of decades.

But things changed in the early 90's. Many Schools grew up around it. Private Schools, offering education through English medium became the demand of the locality. Thus began the downfall of the School. Once upon a time, there were no sufficient furnitures or fixtures to accomodate the roll strength and the School reached out to its alumni for help. Local people contributed and the present School Building was erected, abandoning the rented building located at the same address. Unfortunately, almost simultaneously, a downfall of enrollment figures made the School loose it's XI class status.

Presently, the School has very few students and most of the 18 teaching posts are vacant.
