Talbagan High School inseminated its root many many years ago in the core heart of Talbagn Colony,Mondal Para Lane,Kolkata-90. Formerly it was a colonial area consecrated by the people who came from so called Purva Bangla. Then the school was developed step by step from 1962 with the effortless effort of contemporary free thinking personalities of this area such as honourable Sir Mr. Debprasad Mistri, Parimal Dutta Choudhury, Shanti Ranjan Chattopadhyaya and so on. With the establishment of Talbagn Colony many open minded education lovers showed eagerness to indoctrinate their next generation of this area for there was not any schools nearby at that time. The people of Talbagan Colony in collaboration with the people of Mondal Para Lane, A.K. Mukharjee Road, Ambagan Colony, Shitalamata Lane and Manna Para took an oath to set up the institution for all. In 1962, the school started its unbowed journey through a hostile circumstance before establishment. The classes were held here and there in different houses of the people of Talbagn Colony as there was not any permanent school building. In this circumstance az an openminded personality honourable Sir Mr. Debprasad Mistri bestowed his own house for teaching without any rent. A few years later,the school is set up in the land of Rehabitation department of West Bengal Govt. as a primary school on 2nd January 1962 though it is granted by West Bengal School Education department in 1963. The first head of the institution was respected Sir Mr. Shanti Ranjan Chatterjee and the Secretary was honourable Sir Mr. Parimal Dutta Choudhury. By the way, the school gained its achievement as a Junior High School in 1968. In 2010 the institution attained its dignity to be High School teaching grades five to ten(V - X) under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education with the unwearied effort of the then HOI of the School, respected Sir Mr. Ashim Krishna Paul. The school which is located on the central point of the Talbagan Colony,Mandal Para Lane in the vicinity of Talbagan Primary School and Talbagan Football Ground has seperate Laboratory,Library,Computer Room,Ladies Toilet and so on. Presently the school authority is looking forward to extend the level of the institution in the next phase.
