History

As per available documents Bharatiya Vidyamandir had a humble beginning with a few students in a small school at 29/1, Dr.Jiban Ratan Dhar Road, DumDum in 1966 which was founded  by Shri Shyam Deo Rao and some local people basically who were migrated from U.P, Bihar, Jharkhand etc. areas for their education specially in Hindi Medium. Most of these non bengali people were workers of Jessop, HMV and local mills near Airport areas.

On 12th March, 1968, the school got recognised by West Bengal Government . Last acting Head Teacher of this school was Mr. Sudhakar Pandey who retired on 2012. 

Mrs. Tanushree Bhattacharjee is now present Teacher-In-Charge of Bharatiya Vidyamandir who joined this school on 3rd of February, 2014.

On 2019, the school was upgraded to Class V. 

We are imparting free education to students from Class PrePrimary to Class V in Hindi Medium.
