Birati Mahajati Balika Vidyamandir (H.S.) is a West Bengal Government Sponsored Higher Secondary School in Birati, Kolkata, India established in 1956.The school is a Girls’ school with Bengali as a medium of instruction. It is affiliated with West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education and West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.
The school was named after the name of the locality it is situated in. The tiny plant has grown into a mighty tree. In the year of 1956, on the second day of January, the school started in a ground floor building. The Government of West Bengal Education Directorate gave recognition to the school as a 4- Class Junior High School in 1958.Henceforth it was upgraded to a High School in 1962 by the Board of Secondary Education, West Bengal and to a Higher Secondary School by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education in 1999.Now the School boasts of expanding its excellence in academics and receives accolades in many spheres.
