The waves of problems in the social and political life arising out of Partition of Bengal hit hard the common people of Birati. At that crucial period the listed people, the poor and the mediocre founded here BIRATI SHIKSHA SAMSAD with a view to solving their deep rooted educational problems in 1953 and got its registration done. The founders of SHIKSHA SAMSAD by dint of their enormous zeal and cordial effort established UTTAR DUMDUM VIDYAPITH FOR BOYS and UTTAR DUMDUM VIDYAPITH FOR GIRLS on 4th January, 1954. Afterwards these two institutions gradually won recognition as Madhyamik standard and later on as Higher Secondary standard. The present successors of BIRATI SHIKSHA SAMSAD are following in a non political way strictly and to the best of their effort the motto and principles of their predecessors to spread the light of education among the common masses of Birati.
