Immediately just after Independence of India this School was established in the year 1950 at Khan Para adjacent to 3 No. Railway Gate near the Dum Dum Cantonment Railway Station. The land on which the School was built up was donated by one noble and kind-hearted man named Motiar Rahaman and others of his family.
Thereafter some local thoughtful persons interested in education and some well-wishers of the society came forward and built the School which was earthen- floor, bamboo fenced and tin sheded initially.
Subsequently the Government took up the School and has been named as West Dum Dum G. S. F. P. School. The School is under the Dum Dum New Circle. It is now two - storied building standing at 2 No. Kobi Mukundo Das Road , Rabindra Nagar , Kolkata - 700065 with glorious head helding high.
