History

Located in the Chatakol area by the side of the Bagjola canal Dum Dum Vidyamandir ( High ) is one of the oldest schools of Dum Dum area. The school was founded on 16 April in the year of 1963 at the initiative of late Radhakanta Saha and late Monigopal Chakraborty. Mr. Jiban Kundu , as the first Headmaster of the school carried out the administrative duty quite efficiently from 1963 till 1966. In 1967 Dum Dum Vidyamandir got the recognition as junior high school from West Bengal government. In 1971 the school was recognised officially as high school and in 1976 received the deficit grant from the government of West Bengal. At present Dum Dum Vidyamandir is a well known school with three storied building  infrastructure.  Each year students of all categories pass Madhyamik examination from this school with satisfactory result. Currently initiative is being taken to make the school a higher secondary school.   All of us hope that our school Dum Dum Vidyamandir ( High ) will march ahead on the path of success and prosperity with its head held high.
