Dhaltitha Milan Mandir GSFP School has a unique place in the history of Basirhat. It is one of the first institution after independence. In 1947 at the time of "Partition of Bengal" a huge number of people had started to come and resided in the bank of Ichhamati River. For the ensure of their education govt established some schools on their community. Such kind of school is Dhaltitha Milan Mandir GSFP School. In the 1st February, 1951 it got recognised as a primary school. It is situated on the bank of Ichhamati which witnessed many ancient culture. At first the school was started under thatched roof and wattle boundary. Later from many ups and downs now it has a concrete building. Students now can seat under electric lights and fans, can drink water. The help of West Bengal Primary Education  Board, and the tireless diligence of teachers made this school as one of the reputed school of locality. Successful students from all over the country make this school head high. But this is not the end we have to go a long way.
