History

Our school is located in Paschim Dandirhat village in Basirhat Municipality under Basirhat Sub-Division in North 24 Parganas District. It is situated on the side of Taki Road, about one km east of Basirhat Railway Station.

Proir to 2000, the school was housed inside the Paschim Dandirhat Jame Masjid (a mosque) compound on the side of the road. As per decision of the villagers and with the help of a donor, the school has been shifted from the side of the mosque permanently. No information is available as to when it was exactly started. It was officially recognized in 1978 and has been with effect from March 1,1952. Although the school was built earlier according to local elders, they could not provide any evidence in its favor. However, the government- recognized day, i.e., 1st March, is being observed as the foundation day of the school.

Earlier, as the school did not have proper infrastructure, the system of preserving School documents was not good. Documents created from its inception are no longer available. Admission Register has been preserved since 1972. Gradual infrastructural improvement have resulted in the prosperity of the school. Gradually the number of students is improving. The way to school is now paved. It has electricity connection. It is partially surrounded by boundary walls. Now (in the academic year 2020) a total of three rooms are used to learn from Pre-Primary to class IV. Although there is seating furniture for the students, not all the seating arrangement are done properly due to the shortage of class rooms. At the same time, there is a shortage of toilets. Lac of play ground is making it difficult to practice sports properly. But the relationship at the local level with the school is strong enough, which is helping to move it forward.
