History

Basirhat primary School is a name of tradition along with excellence. It is an age old school with huge number of eminent alumnies. This School was established in 1949 at Basirhat, North 24 Parganas. The School consists of grades from Pre-Primary to Class - V. This is a co-educational School. Bengali is the medium of learning and the session starts with the month of January.

The School has healthy and airy eight classrooms and one room for non teaching activites. There is no separate room for Head Teacher. This school also provides all must need facilities like toilets, drinking water, mid-day meal distribution area, play ground, electric facilities etc. It also provides a mini library with almost 250-300 books for students. But the school has no computer lab . Mid-day meal is prepared in another school in a hygienic way as there is no kitchen in this school. The school runs in a rented building under the authority of Basirhat High School. This school is easily and well connected to the roads. It is an institution of healthy atmosphere and equality.
