History

Bongaon  Ghosh Institution is a government-sponsored secondary institution located  at the heart of  Bongaon town. The school was established in  jessore district of undivided bengal  9th February 1931. This school was recognized as a Junior High School on and from 1st January 1956 ( vide board memo no. H/981 dt. 13 04.1956 ). Then the school was upgraded to Secondary level i.e High School on and from 1st January 1967 (vide board  memo no. 13896 G dt.20.11.1968 ). The school was included under  grant-in-aid in 1973 ( vide DIS letter no. 40 (1000) dt.12.03.1973). The commencement of  co-education system introduced on and from 01.05.2007 (vide memo no. 24 (N)1423/04/g dt.30.04.2007).
