The dream child of Kabi Keshablal Das set foot at Subhaspally, Bongaon, North 24-Parganas, on the first day of September, 1949. The founder’s personal pain and sufferings of covering miles on foot from the then East Pakistan to Bongaon to attend his classes urged him to found the school as Kabi Keshablal Vidyapith, a ten class school in an asbestos shed. The Calcutta University Minutes Committee recognized it in 1950 in its minutes. The students had to get themselves registered in another school to appear for the Board Examination. That was the beginning of this school that has now grown up to a three storeyed building over years. The founder Keshablal Das was a poet himself and won the titles of Kabyabharati and Sahityasaraswasati for his contribution in the domain of literature. Today it’s a Government Sponsored Higher Secondary school with three labs – Physics, Chemistry and Bio-Science, one rich library, ICT classroom, Vocational Stream, Mid Day Meal Kitchen, a pond, a large play ground and hundreds lush green trees with pristine air.
