Gouran High School is a two story building which situated in the middle of the village Gouran which comes under pole - II panchayat , Khanakul -I , Hooghly. Gouran is a remote and backward area most of the villagers belongs to schedule caste and minority and also financially poor. There was only primary school and high School was approximately 7 km away from the village .As a result drop out cases were in glore as it almost impossible to go so far to continue higher study . Under this circumstances the students were urgently indeed for a high school at earliest . To cope with the situation and fulfill the demand of villagers the West Board of Secondary Education provided permission and a Junior high school was set up in 2009. Later it was promoted to High School in 2018 and is now running smoothly as well .
