History

On scrutiny of the different document including some manuscripts in relation to the history of the school, it is noticed that , in way back in 4th   December, 1961   a meeting was held at Mohotsavtala Ground in  Thakuranichak  convening the people of Thakuranichak and its neighbouring  villagers .The meeting  was proposed  by  Shri Nabakumar Bera  and was  supported by Shri Rakhal  Chandra Mondal , both local villagers.   In that meeting which was presided over by Shri Debedranath Bag ( a local people) , it was  unanimously decided under a proposal fabricated by Shri Nabakumar Bera and Shri Gandhicharan Bhunia ,both inhabitants of local hamlet that constitution of a purely girls school is need of the hour due to non-availability of solely  girls school and the place was decided as surrounding areas of Mohotsavtala ground and name of the school was endorsed as “Thakuranichak Balika Vidyalaya”. As per available records the found of the school are known as Shri Nabakumar Bera and Shri Gandhicharan Bhunia. The  then toddling school is presently catering the dream nurtured by those local well-wishers . School upgraded to a Madhamik  School in the year of 1986 from West Bengal Board of  Secondary Education . The school associated hostel facility only for the S.C. & S.T.  students starts functioning in the year of 1987. The school attached hostel provides the free education and free accommodation alongwith food  to those S.C. and S.T. students who are mostly coming from needy family.
