History

GULTIA is the  birthplace of the great poet " KABIBAR HEMCHANDRA BANDOPADHYAY" . For the rememberance of the great poet and the sake of the poor villagers , the present school building was constructed and founded by the honourable "LATE BIJAY KRISHNA CHANDRA" . Previously , a small hut beside the " TANTSHILPI SAMABAY SAMITI" was used as a pathsala for the children. After the Government approval the school was transfered to this new building in the year 1948, situated beside the aboriginal locality and surrounded by the various trees the school premises is like the mini recreation of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore's " SANTINIKETAN"
