History

 

Antpur was the village home of Baburam Ghosh (later Swami Premananda). It was at Antpur where Swami Vivekananda and eight other disciples of Sri Ramakrishna took their vow of ‘sannyasa’ on 24 December 1886. The Ramakrishna-Premananda Ashram of Antpur has built a temple on the birthplace of Swami Premananda. Anarbati is a village, beside Antpur village located in the Taluka of Jangipara, in the district of Hugli , in the state of West Bengal  with a total population of 2412. There are 624 houses in the Village.  This School is located in the heart of this village. This school was established in the year 1962. At first there was only one small muddy hut. Then some villagers had given there land and many helped financially and worked hard to form 2 new hut. Gradually after having grant from government now this school has 2 two storied pucca building and one hall with one kitchen shed. Every member of the school whoever they are Teachers, V.E.C Members or any person who is wellwisher of the school always thinks about the betterment for this school.The name of our school (SWAMI PREMANANDA VIDYAPITH)  also Inspired from the name and the work of Swami Premanada Maharaj .
