History

Brief History:

During the first half of the 20 th century, there was an enlightening of educationists for the purpose of spreading English education.Under this circumstance of enlightenment an institution was established in 1940 in this remote village of Nikash. Leading part was taken by Sri Kinkar Bandapadhyay. At first this school was minor school and it was established within the premises of Kalibari of Sri Kinkar Bandapadhyay.Later the institution was  as Nikash junior High School and  it came under School Board on 02.02.1941.land was donated by late Bholanath Bandapadhyay . The school upgraded as junior High school on 01.01.1962.(Vide Memo No :26398/G dt 20.12.62.). Nevertheless, cordial efforts of Sri Bandapadhyay   the institution had its recognition as co-educational institution.

Again the school has been upgraded as X class High School on 1.05.2000(Vide Memo No :S/Recog/2000/794  dt 28.08.2000). Our school has also been converted from Non Government aided school recognized by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education to Government sponsored School  recognized by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education . (Vide Memo No :11155/RMSA/SL/5S-264/12 dt 30.09.2013).

In the field of sports and games Nikash Monai Chandi High School laid its marks.  It’s due to Bandapadhyay ’s institution have its School ground. Not only the pupils of the school but the people of neighboring areas also finds it as a well off  ground for practicing till date  in respect  of personal and professional  fields.
