India becames independent in 1947. Meanwhile,there's a urge to spread education among the Indians of either a village or a town. Consequently, at Kandarpanagar in Hooghly under Jangipara block, a school was set up beside the temple of " Vishalakhi" on a land given by the priests( sebati ) . It was in March, 1948 ( Dag No.-114, JL No -50 , Area:- 5 satak ). The Headmaster, Joydeb Pandit started the school with more than hundred students. Many students of this shined in their life and glorified their school thereafter.
