History

The school was established on 16 th march 1896 by Sri Debrandra Mukhopadhyay of Garalgacha gram Initially school was started at the primary stage in a single room of Anukul Chandra’s Koley Pathsala. That time the name of the school was Garalgacha High English School. In the Cinet meeting of Calcutta University it was decided for the first time the students can appear in entrance exa. 4 students were appeared in the entrance exam in the first year.Many respective persons visited the school premises. One of the popular person was President of Indian National Congress Sri Umesh Chandra Bandopadhyay, Rastraguru Surendra nath banerjee,, Ramesh Chandra Dutta, Poet Hemchandra Bandopadhyay. Governor Sri Ragupal Reddy also visited. Popular teacher and Mathemetician Sri Bholanath Mukhopadhyay stood second position in entrance exam in 1961. The students of this school Sri Bireswar Pal stood first position in Bengali Literature and also won Gold medal in exam. This school maintain s the glorious history from last 125 years. Many students are well established in different fields in different parts of the world. We are proud to be the part of this school.
