Our Institution Batanal Upendra Smriti Nari Siksha Niketan is located at the eminent village Batanal under Arambagh Block of Arambagh S.D. in Hooghly District. After independence some persons interested in girls education of the village established the school in a small hut.These great people  gave their labour, time and money to establish the girls' school. On 1959 the dream of the villagers came true and the school got Govt. Aid. Now it is full of student’s chorus. All  those great people were rest in peace today but we must remember them.

       These great persons tried to spread the light of girls education in this backword  village when the transport communication was the biggest issue. We all are proud to remember their hard work. All the persons gave consent that the name of the girls school will be in the name of Subodh Chandra Nandi’s father’s name Late Upendranath Nandi  i.e. “Batanal Upendra Smriti Nari Siksha Niketan”.

       Time passes slowly and we have crossed sixty three springs from 1959. In 1968 the school is upgraded to Secondary Education School. Now the school is running with its own glory in Arambagh Block.The school is located in the conjested place of the village. There is no open space, no playground etc. So, some benevolent persons of this village donate their own lands to school and they have been trying to extend the school premises during last seven years. Now Building have been built there. We hope the school will be shifted to the new premises in the future and will move forword towards the goal of improvement.
