History

Moloypur High School is a State Government Sponsored school situated in the right bank of river Mundeswari, the distributory of river Damodar of Moloypur and beside Burdwan-Tarakeswar Road and near Moloypur Bazar.It is a leading institution for educationin the rural locality.It was established in 1950 by stalwart educationalists like Radhashyam Roychoudhury and others to modern education to the local people. prior to the advent of the British in india,indigenous primary school of Bengal taught very little beyond Bangla,simple arithmetic and sanskrit which was not enough to the people.The necessity of learning English was also keenly felt by the people.As a result,it was started as Moloypur M.E.School(English Medium).
