History

The village"TARAHAT" is situatedin the Goghat II block under Arambagh Sub-Division of Hooghly District. It is located in the extreme end of Western side of  Hooghly district and nearby of Eastern side of Bankura district and Northarn side of Paschim Midnapur. The School Tarahat Saradamoni High School was founded 24 th December in the year 1970( Birthday of  Saradamoni ) by few social workers of the village who were particularly interested in Education. At that time it was one of the backward villeges in the Hooghly district.Social category of the villagers were almost 70% S.C.,8-10% ST,15% General caste ,few minorities and most of them were illeterate.The school was first situated as 2-class Junior high school w.e.f. 01.01.1971,Which was upgraded as 4-class Junior high schoolw.e.f. 01.01.1974.latter an upgraded as X-class High school w.e.f. 23.12.05 and lastly upgraded as XII -class Higher secondary school w.e.f. 15.06.2015.
