History

During the time after Independence, all the students of village Satghara had to go to Bangihati Primary School which was situated in the adjacent village Bangihati for study. Then some persons interested in education took initiative to organise a school in the village for the sake of the students and in the year 1955, Satghara Primary School was set up.

After many years, Gopinath Chakraborty and Kishori Mohan Chakraborty were the pioneers in organising Satghara Junior High School in such a remote village. On request of many people, Kanailal Chakraborty donated a marsh of 19 satak (approx) for foundation of a school. The marsh was filled with rubbish and other disposed materials with the help of villagers. Members of  Satghara Uday Sangha Club at that time played a vital role. Kishori Mohan Chakraborty took a leading role in construction of school building. Lion's Club of Serampore came forward with helping hand in construction of school building. Local Amin Ashok kumar Biswas prepared the plan of the school without charging anything. At this point of time, Sailendranath Biswas donated bricks for construction of school building. In this way, Satghara Junior High School was founded on 02/01/1975  with Dhananjoy Banduri joining this school as Teacher-In-Charge alongwith other teachers like Prohlad Ghosh, Somnath Ghosh and Namita Ghosh. In 1977 and 1986, this school was all set to get recognition of WBBSE, unfortunately it didn't happen.

At last, the school was recognised as 4-class Junior High School  w.e.f. 01/05/1993 vide Board's Memo No. S/383, dated 23/11/1993. The school received recognition as X-class High School  w.e.f. 01/05/2000 vide WBBSE Memo No. S/Recog/2000/250, dated 05/06/2000
