History

In 1923,with the initiative of "Pally Sevak Samiti" of Devananda pur "Joggeswari Nari Sikshalaya "was established on the abandoned building (Gotonata Bhawan)of Dutta munshi family. It is mentioned that,presently the school "Sharat Chandra Siksha Niketan"has been re appropriated as co-ed school in Girindra Bhawan since 1964. Successively ,"Girindra Kumar junior high school", "Girindra Kumar High School "and later with the name of "Sharat Chandra Siksha Niketan " this institution has been continuing the process of schooling at daytime.

Since 1923 "Pally Sevak Samiti"had been whole heartedly funding "Joggeswari Nari Sikshalaya " altogether upto 31 March 1957. In this regard it must be mentioned that, a volunteer organization from Kolkata named "Amla Society" has sometimes provided financial aid and in less or more amounts. On 1st April of 1957,"Joggeswari Nari Sikshalaya" has got the affiliation of the State Government. Even today girl children have been receiving their primary education from this school in the morning time
