History

Gowa Ziaul Haque Institution (H.S) has a remarable history of spreading the light of education in an area mostly populated by the people who are from the schedule caste, schedule tribe and minority community. It was established in 1949 by Mr. Ziaul Haque, an eminent social worker and son of the soil who held a cabinet portfolio in Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy ministry. First the school was started as an upper primary school and from 1969 the the school got recognition to teach secondary level. In 2009 Gowa Ziaul Haque Institution got the affiliation of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
