
Anandanagar A.C Roy High School started its journey years back in 1941. With the aim to spread the light of education among the poor villagers in this part of World and in memory of his father Annanda Chandra Roy , his son Akshoy Chandra Roy, residing at Kannagar, originally from Khoshalpur , an adjacent village to Anandanagr decided to set up a school in this remote area. He selected Late Kanailal Samanta , inhabitant of Anandanagar , to shoulder the responsibility of setting up a school building. Initially he donated Rs. 7000. After his demise his wife Bhabatarini Debi donated further 9000 rupees. With his money diligent trustworthy, devoted Late Kanailal Samanta gave the shape of a school building with 10 rooms made of brick and thatched with slates. The school was first approved by Calcutta University on 1st January 1947 as Secondary School. In 1961 the school was raised to XI class Higher Secondary School. Finally in 1976 it was raised to 10 + 2 Higher Secondary School. The seed planted in 1941 passed through different troubles and hurdles and is now a big gigantic tree ,known as Anandanagar A.C Roy High school.
