History

MUSTAFAPUR HIGH MADRASAH, established in 1915, is a becon in the field of education. 'MADRASAH' the term in arabic means school/educational instirution along with subjects of arabic and theology. The educational movement in rural muslim area of Bengal spread through the famous Saint/Sufi Mujaddid e zaman Abu Bakr Siddiqui (R) of Furfurah Sarif. His Numerous followers dedicated themselves in the field of education. Among of them Maolana Abdullah Mondal (R) and Hafiz Abdul Hai (R) nick name 'Gor hafez sb' and Maolana Hannan Ali (R), the pioneers of modern education who realized the crucial role of modern education in fusion with Islamic culture and traditions for the empowerment of poor and backward muslim community. This madrasah run it's financial support by some polymath of surrounding villages and especially by Late Abdus Subhan who donated a land of 0.67 acre under this Mouza. Students from different villages even some 'Pirzada' of Basubati would come to enlighten themselves in islamic knowledge and culture along with modern science and language.

It became the first recognized Junior madrasah under Singur block from class I-VI by the Ispector of Schools, Burdwan Division in 11th March, 1938. Later it is upgraded to Junior High Madrasah in 2006  and it's primary section went under the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, and then to Mustafapur High Madrasah  (V to X)  in 2013 by the West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education. 

It is hearsay that the ex-headmaster Sheikh Motiur Rahaman was the paternal uncle of Late Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman before the partition of Bengal. Sheikh Motiur Rahaman would live in this village in connection with his service and his nephew Sheikh Mujibur Rahman would come here to visit his uncle and stay with him. Sheikh Motiur Rahaman returned to Bangladesh after his retirement.

it has been conferred the status of a minority educational institution as per Memo No. 1465-MD/07 dated 12.10.2007. It is hoped that along with the people of any race, creed, caste or class, this madrasah will play a crucial and leading role in the advancement of education for socially and educationally backward classes belonging to the Minorities.
