History

Sarat Chandra Memorial H.S. Institution is a Govt. Sponsored Independent (H.S. only) school named after the legendary writer Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay.

It was established on 17th September 1976 with the first batch of students as a Government Aided Independent (H.S. only) school where Class-XI and Class-XII students are taught in General Stream.

The school is affiliated with the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education

Regarding foundation of "Sarat Chandra Memorial H.S. Institution", we should remember 'Mr. Tarak Das Dey', the famous educationist and social worker.  Without the effort of Mr. Tarak Das Dey, the foundation of Sarat Chandra Memorial H.S. Institution was impossible at that time.
