The school was established by Late Narayan Chandra Pal, freedom fighter and person interested in education, on 26th April,1957.
The school was first recognised by name PALASI HEMANGINI SENIOR BASIC SCHOOL vide Memo No. 1719(16) Sc/P dt. 30.11.1957 and came under partial Grant-in-aid with effect from 26.09.1958 vide Memo No. 10242 Edn/9P-442/57 dt.27.11.1957.
The school was converted into Junior High School vide G.O. No. 1764 Edn(S) dt. 22.08.1969 inaccordance with G.O. No. 23/69 dt. 20.11.1969.
The school was finally recognised as X class High School with effect from 01.01.1970 and name of the school was changed as PALASI HEMANGINI SAROJINI VIDYAMANDIR (HIGH SCHOOL) vide WBBSE's Order No. 13600/G dt. 30.12.1970.
The school participated in Board's Examination for the first time in 1971.
The school was in receipt of Grant-in-aid for the first time in 1957-58 vide Order No. 10242 Edn/9P-440/57 and was in Grant-in-aid entirely for the first time on and from 01.05.1972 vide G.O. No. 343- Edn(S) dt.03.03.1973.
The school was upgraded to Higher Secondary School with effect from 26.08.2013 vide WBCHSE's ORDER No. DS(A) SD/0321/RECOG/2013 dt. 26.08.2013.
The school was converted as Govt. Sponsored Higher Secondary School on and from 17.12.2014 vide Memo. No. 947 HGL268/SE/S/10M-107/14 dt. 17.12.2014.
