Education is the first step for people to  gain the knowledge, critical thinking , empowerment and skills they need to make this world better place. The mission of our school Chinsurah Deshbandhu Memorial Girls' High School  is to educate the girls and built their character so that they could contribute to make a progressive society.

The school was established in 1968 as a junior-high school in Kamarpara, Chinsurah.In 1971, the school was recognised by WBBSE as a secondary scchool .The school was reborn in 1990 at Tulsicharan smrity bhavan ,Buroshibtala,Chinsurah with the benevolence of Mr. Samarendranath Ghosh and Mr. Aurobindo Ghosh, Mrs. Mitra Basuthe then Headmistress of the schoolalong with the managing committee purchased the land adjoining the building and set up our present institution.Higher Secondary Education was introduced in 1997-1998.At first Arts and then commerce and science section were commenced.The second floor of the school building was set up with the grant of Sarba siksha Mission and Dhirendranath Sarhel.

Computer Education in our school started before any other schools in chinsurah .CAL and ICT LAB has enriched our instituion. We received a Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine and a modern smart class equipments from The Rotary Club.

Many girls belonging to  very poor and unprivileged section of our society develop passion for learning after gettng admission in our school. They get the contentment of their life in education participation in school games and sports, dance and singing,gardening and many other things.

We avknowledge with gratitude,the dedication and sustained efforts of all those people who have played an  integral role in the growth and  development of this institution.They include the former and present Headmistress ,Teaching staff and non-teaching sttaff and most of all our students
