
The foundation of the school runs way back to 1932 and 9th March is celebrated as the Foundation Day of the school.The school is situated in Ward No 30 of Hooghly Chinsurah Municipality.
The residents of Buroshibtala were directly involved in the revolutionary activity ,they even embraced imprisonment such as Sri Dayal Kumar,Sri Tushar Chattopadhyay,being involved in the Civil Disobedience Movement of 1930-32.
Everyone in the loxality stressed on the need for freedom struggle and women education and empowerment.Inspite of a missionary school being set up primary girls'school was established at Bharati Bidyabhawan just opposite to the hiuse of Lt.dr.Sankar Chattopadhyay.From the day 1 tiny learners and honourable women of noted family took concious responsibility of teaching,donations from well to do people met up the expenses incurred at that time.Children were given lessons on music,work educatiin and others.Dr Hemchandra Dey contribution to teach classes v,vi,vii were note worthy.The destination was a three storeyed building near the Progressive Union Field..in the 1960s and 1970s.All the struggle stopped after the purchasing of the house of late Santosh Das.contribution from the govt and municipality is also laudable.the school is blessed to have bern visited by the relative of the great Rabindranath Tagore,Indira Debi,Dr.Bhupendranath Dutta,Harihar Seth.
The contribution of our honourable ex-headmistress Pratibha Ganguly is praiseworthy who attained martydom in the freedom struggle.
