History

The school was established in 1851.It gradually morphed into a centre of excellence in imparting knowledge. After Independence the Honorable Government gave recognition as II-Class school vide memo no 3928/ME-46 dated  and as 4-Class School vide letter dated 19/08/1964.The school ultimately has been upgraded to X-class school vide Memo No 11964/G  dated01/04/1967 with effect from 01-01-1967.Again the school gets permission to run Hindi as medium of instruction vide memo no.D.S.(Aca)/424 dated 10/08/2009. side by side Bengali.
