                                                           HISTORY OF SCHOOL

Sri Gaurishankar Singh , the Founder of the school. He established the school on 15 th. August, 1956 with handful number of 5 (five) students in a rental room of tally bari. Further, the school had been bought and registered 12 Katthas of land including 02 katthas donated land of Sri Chunilal Khemka Jee, for the infrastructural development in the leadership of Sri Gaurishankar Singh. Now the school have its own land and three storey building.

The school got its first recognition as NAYA BASTI SHREE SHIVA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL with effect from 01-01-1982 by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and Sri Madan lal Gupta was appointed as Teacher In-Charge. The Popularity of the school grew with time and   however, towards the end of 1982, the school successfully enrolled about 260 pupils.  The local students particularly, the girl students were continuously being benefited in the lime light of the school’s education up to class VIII ( 8 ) standard.

After, 25 years of its long journey of 1 st. recognition as Junior High School, Dr. Umesh Prasad Singh, had been appointed as first approved Headmaster in January, 2005 on the basis of West Bengal School Service Commission. However, till date, much water of the River Hooghly had flown, but the school did not receive its further achievement as Up gradation. However, the issued arrived for the girl students as most of them had a poor family background.  Unfortunately, they had to leave their     education after completing 8th standard and overlook their dreams. Up gradation of X (10) Class High School and infrastructural development of the school was becoming the burning issue for the locality. The newly appointed Headmaster initiated the matter of Up-gradation as class X (10) High School in cooperation with some government officials and local M.C members. Then the Up gradation and development became a mission for newly appointed Headmaster and randomly utilized school pad and designated seal in the greater of institution and needs of locality. Finally, the government awarded the results of hard works and efforts, and the school successfully received the order of Up gradation as X (10) Class High School in March, 2008 by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.

The roll strength of the school had roused more than 550 in the year 2008. Hence its true to say that “Honestly hard work never goes in vain” as we know ‘Change is the law of  nature’, similarly in the course of development, the Managing Committee  had been decided to upgrade the X (10) Class High School as High Secondary School (10+2 Level) in the view of alarming needs of Post Mature School Education of locality particularly, for the girls students. Hence, West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education had been accorded its recognition for Introduction of Higher Secondary Education, allowing General Course (Arts) with effect from academic session 2015-2016.

At present the school is Govt. Sponsored Co-Education Institution and providing a platform for getting healthy, refined substantial education to the children from locality and far. The school has been successfully grown over the years to become an Institution of repute in the locality.
