THE FOUNDATION HISTORY OF SCHOOL IN A NUTSHELL

Nam-Anchuri Madhyamik Vidyalaya which has been serving as a beacon light for education to the surrounding area is one of the old and ideal educational institutions of Bankura district. It is known from the preserved documents and records that this temple of learning had been started in the fifth decade of twentieth century. Haripada Kundu, respected founder and Headmaster of the School had started the victorious journey in a cutcha and thatched room with his indomitable spirit and strong support of a few local admirers. After getting over the adverse situation and with the countenance of the-then Honourable President of India and great educationist, Dr. Sarbapalli Radhakrishnan, two classes - V and VI had been approved finally in 1955. Later classes - VII, VIII, IX, X and XI had been promoted successively. This temple of learning, witness of acclivity and declivity, has seen consecrating hundreds of students with mantras of siksha for years.
