Kanchanpur is a small and peaceful village. 12km far from Bankura town. Kanchanpur High School is the only school in the whole village and started its journey on 1 st January 1974 intending to make education easily availabe to the children of this village. The School started with only classes V & VI as approved by the West Bengal Bord of Secondary Education on 7th April 1974. From that time onwords the institution has come a long way, from having first generation learners to creating teachers, engineers, and police personnel so on. It has a playground and a library which has text, reference books, and storybooks. The School also has a student council that convenes a meeting once in a month. It helps to develop leadership skills and grow confidence among the students. The Eco - club in our school is active in social works like tree plantation and spreading scientific thoughts and good moral values. It also organizes seminar, quiz, sit-and-draw competition rallies to encourage eco friendly habits among the students. The common villagers are also made to take part in these activities. Cooked mid-day-meals are served among students of class V to VIII.
