                                                   Annals of Govt. Model School, Chhatna

                   Previously many attempts were taken to establish a Madhyamic School at the mouza Bahara (J.L. No. 196,Plot No. 1710(P) Area 3.85 acres).But unfortunately ,all endeavours ended in smoke.

                   The former education minister of the Govt. of W.B. Mr. Partha Dey laid the foundation stone of the school on 29th December ,2010 at the place mentioned above. Thereafter ,the State Government set up the Model School taking necessary financial help from the Central Govt. The School began to function on regular basis on and from 15th May,2013.

                   The honourable Govt. has established the Model School with a view to imparting effective education for the poor and tribal students. In order to get a success in this great mission of spreading education in under-developed areas,the Govt. initially appointed retired secondary teachers on purely temporary basis till the P.S.C Selected teachers fill the vacancy.

                   We have strong conviction that with active co-operation of the teachers and the local people interested in education this institute will achieve desired success. The very name “Model” will be the misnomer of the term until and unless this institution reaches the height of being the role model to other institutions.
