History

Welcome to Jamtara Sri Durga High School. The school started its journey as a junior one with only two classes (V & VI) in the year 1959. Some enthusiatic local people established this school with their untiring effort. In 1964 another two classes (VII & VIII) were also started. At that time the students, teachers, guardians had to face many problems. ultimately with the earnest co-operation, care, assistance and support of all concerned. The school was upgraded into high school in 2006.

As local peoples; earnest endeavour made the school run, so they are emotionally attached with the school. They loved the school very much and they feel very proud for their school. some times they also proposed some ideas and programmes for the welfare of the school.

Maximum students of our school are first and second generation learners and their socio-economic condition is not so good. Teachers are trying their best for the development and progress of the school. 

As a result the school is going ahead slowly but confidently and steadyly. Hope, it will attain its desired target in near future.
