History

Harigram Goenka High School (H.S) is located on the last south of Chhatna police station in Bankura district.
 The school was established on January 10, 1946.
 Before the establishment of the school, the area adjacent to the school was economically and
 educationally backward,but with the help of visionary peoples native And 
Rajasthan resident Mohanlal Goenka Mahasaya, a humanitarian businessman, was urged to build the school. 
The educated and education lover people of the region handed over money and land to Mohanlal Goenka Mahasaya.
 In addition to land donations, many have helped to build the school as much as possible. 
 Although the school was established on January 10, 1948, the school was approved on January 1, 1948.
Gobordhan Chakraborty, a disciple of Netaji, was the first headmaster.
Sukhmoy Chattopadhyay, a student of Rabindranath Tagore, joined the school from Visva-Bharati as the headmaster.
 All the teachers who had taught since the birth of the school are respectful,
 responsible and dutiful towards the school.
Thanks to their combined efforts, the school is still thriving. 
Although the veteran and experienced teachers have retired from their careers one by one, 
following their tradition, the present day teachers are dedicated to the school.
 The results of the school examination are promising only with the local students.
   The students of the school are the pride of the school. 
They are disciplined, responsible and respectful. Everyone involved is committed to improve the outcome.
