Karrakhun Junior High School started its glorious journey in the year 2009 with the help of two guest teachers and one local retired teacher. The journey was not an easy one. It must not be forgotten that the construction of Karrakhun junior High School would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the people of the locality. Nearest High School was for away from this locality. So, the people of this locality realized the need of setting up a high school for their children. So, they donated land freely for the construction of this school. Having no school building our school started with the kind assistance of Karrakhun primary school. The then Head Master of the school respected Panchanan Mandal, stretched his kind hand and our school started in this primary school. After that, three permanent teachers were appointed in the year 2010. The Ad-hoc committee of the school gave the responsibility of Teacher-In-charge to respected Manas Kumar Maji, MSc(Math), B.Ed. At the same time the construction of new school building was going on in a rapid speed and the construction work was completed in the year 2011. Naturally our school was shifted to the newly constructed building with a lot of happiness and enthusiasm. In the year 2012 there were four classes. So, it was very difficult to continue the whole teaching- learning process smoothly. In that year two guest teachers were appointed for the smooth running of the classes. At the same time students were increasing day by day .Our school had to face many difficulties. At the beginning, there were only three classrooms and no additional room for the Head Master or the staff. There were no electricity, no toilets, and even drinking water was not sufficient in our school. Gradually all have been available in our school. Then in the year 2014 the two guest teachers were replaced by two permanent teachers through general transfer. At present there are five permanent teachers and one non-teaching staff (peon) in our school. Thus our school has completed its 11 years journey with a lot of joy and glory. Now we are eagerly waiting for becoming it a Secondary School. All kinds of efforts are being done for this purpose. We are pretty hopeful that our dream will be materialized very soon.
