History

In the year 2010, after the W.B.Govt. announced to construct secondary schools in those regions where there was no secondary school, some people of the Mochrakendra took initiative (Sri Kalipada Mishra, Kalidas Dubey, Shyamal Mishra, Prahlad Mishra, Basudeb Mishra, Aditya ghosh, Dibyendu Mishra, Jiten bhandari of Nagardanga, etc.) to establish a secondry school in their village. During those times, there was neither a secondary nor an Upper primary school in that village and the neighbouring 5-7 villages, so the students had to travel 7-8 kms to a school for receiving education.

The contemporaneous Panchayat and political leaders had provided their complete support to the villagers in constructing the school.

The Mochrakendra Junior High School got a temporary affiliation from the government in 2010. But due to unavailability of school-owned land, the affiliation was not effective.

To solve the issue, a former resident of Mochrakendra, Mrs. Madhabi Mishra (W/O Hariprasanna Mishra), currently a resident of Bishnupur, donated 0.33 acres of land and assured to donate more amount of land when required.

The admission of students in the school started from January 2011. The neighbouring villages were informed. Two retired teachers, Mr. Prahlad Mishra and Mr. Shyamal Mishra, along with some educated persons, resideing in the villages (Nabamita Mishra, Puja Mishra, Sonali Bhattacharya, Raja Pandey, Debdas Agasthy commonly known as lutu), started teaching at the school as voluntary basis. Since then only the guest teachers(Retd. Secondary teachers) have been recruited time to time.

Currently the school in run by only the Guest teachers. The school now has a permanent building but doesn't have any permanent Teaching or Non-teaching staffs. This year the number of students is 159 among which 90% are SC and OBC. The government must recruit permanent teaching and non teaching staffs for the school as soon as possible.
