History

On the north bank of the Dwarakeshwar river is the village Nikunjapur. Some of the villagers wanted to kindle the lamp of knowledge in this village in the year 1927. Thus the Nikunjapur M school was born where class five and class six were started. The resident of Khemua, Shree Abhaypada Shit took some responsibility of the school as the honorary headmaster. The first inspection of the school happened in the year 1940 after much coaxing by the secretary, Shree Satish Chattopadhyay. This inspection did not really help as there was not much to show. Another inspection took place in the year 1943, when the secretary earnestly requested the District Inspector to help. The Inspector assured that he would help the if result of the school was noteworthy. That very year Shree Prabhakar Mahanty of Panchami was the recipient of first division scholarship. Shree Satish Chattopadhyay took the boy along with him to the DI’s office and the school got the permission for the classes VII and VIII in 1944 which did not materialize owing to the unavailability of many things. The very next year, i.e., in 1945 Shree Mahadeb Dutta of Chamtya passed with first division scholarship. Development of the school got a strong affirmative nod. In the year 1946 classes VII and VIII were started with three students and Shree Bimalananada Shit was the head master. The school got the permission to be a high school in the year 1953. Shree Bimalananda Shit was the head master then.
