History

In the early 70's Gholkunda,Dumuria,Petyakana and Madhabpur villages were totally abstracted from the outside world due to its awkward location. Walking was the main mode of transport to the people of these villages.

Learners of these villages were deprived of the blessings of learning before 1970 as kids had to cover a long distance on foot through a dense jungle to acquire knowledge. Some dignitaries and educationists felt an urge to set up a school at the heart of four villages in order to bring the locality from darkness to light and to remove the difficulties that the learners of those days had to confront with. Driven by noble cause some donated land, some money and labour. They then engaged themselves to make a mud building with only two rooms. Finally, the institution was set up in 1970. It got recognition as a 2 class Junior High school in 1971 and after a gap of 13 years it was upgraded as a 4 class Junior High school in1984 .The dream of the locality got fulfilled in 2000 when it flourishes its branches as a X High school. This very sapling has now turned into a full grown tree as it has got full shape with H.S. section (Arts) in 2019.
