History

Pathra Junior High School is a new set up school established in 2010. The school is located in a remote village Pathra (of Sonamukhi Block) surrounded by deep forest. The land where the school buliding has been standing is donated by some education loving, generous and kind land owners who belong to this village. Then the buliding was constructed with the financial aid of Sarva Siksha Mission. Besides Pathra, Bhula and Tethalikonda (many People say Arjuna) are the villages from where the students generally come to take admission in this school. Staying almost 11 k.m away from the main municipal town Sonamukhi and dealing with many more difficulties in their lives, the students here were in dire necessity to have such a school in their locality.

The then S.I Mr. Anupam Acharya made a construction committee with interested villagers who initiated the work of building construction. The classes from V to VI were also running at that time in the classrooms of Pathra Junior Basic School by two guest teachers with only 37 students. Then three teachers joined the school after the recommendation of School Service Commission and Mr. Milan Mondal (English) took the charge of the school.
