After independence of India some educated people of the locality started organising a formal school in the then Kusumbani village ( Now Ward- 16 of Bisnupur Municipality). One noble man Jamundas Khemka came forward and donated 5.73 acres of land in phases in the fifties. There grew a primary school first and then a Junior basic school in 1966. Later the junior basic school was upgraded to a High school in 1971 and it was christened as " Jamunadas Khemka High School" . Later it was upgraded to a Higher Secondary school in 2002.
