History

The Khardah High School ia Government Sponsored (10+2) Co-educationl Institution,It is situated in the village Khardah belonginging to the block Amta-1 under the district Howrah

In 1950, the School was established with the initiative taken by the villagers led by Shree Gobinda Charan Maji, the local resident aswell as the eminent Social Worker.The School started its journey with only 22 students in a shed, adjacent to the "Kachari Bari" near the Primary School,

On the 5th January of 1951, the school got the sanction to be extended to Class V&VI, Being encouraged, the villagers whose iron determination easiiy crushed the hindrance caused by financial incapability immediately took the initiative to buildup a seperate construction for the school ; collected bamboos,wood and the leaves of palm trees and a hut,comented with their smiling free service,stood up as a symbol of their prestige.

In 1955, the hut was completely devastated by a violent storm; but the whimsicality of nature could not curb the indomitable sprit of the villagers. Their collective effort now took the shape of pucca house.

In 1969, the school was developed to a Junior High School and 1982 it got the promotion of Madhyamik High School.The problem of rooms was also solved, thanks to the initiative taken Shree Prasad Chakraborty, the helmsman of the Tajpur Shyamaprasad Institute and Culture,The second storey was made on the old building.

In 2004, the school was upgraded to Higher Secondary Level.There are Science&Arts streams.The W.B.S.C 0f Vocational Education& Training granted the sanction to introduce (10+2)Vocational Commerce Course and VIII+ Tailoring Course.

A large school building has been constructed with the monetary support of the Government. With the facilities of advanced Laboratory, Library,Cultural Stage, Auditorium, Multi-Gim,large play ground etc, the school has earned the reputation of an advanced school in this area.
