The year was 1958. Bengal had still not stopped seeing nightmares of British tortures and anarchy. People had not eat settled down from the violent rebellions and nationalist movements against the foreign misrule. Numerous diversities, superstition and prejudices had still restricted open-minded outlook and progress. It was in such a scenario that on April 11,1958, the historical foundation of Bagnan Girl’s High School was laid. The mission was to provide a scope to the deprived girl children for enlightenment and for entry into the world of education.

At that time Smt. Gayatri Mukherjee was the principal. Thereafter the next principal was Smt. Usha Saha (Biswas).

With the passage of time and change of mentality, more and more female students started enrolling into the school and consequently a separate new building was constructed beside Bagnan Bus Stand , solely For girls. Bulbuli Talukdar (Maity) as the Head mistress , there was a great development crowned with the up gradation of the school to Higher Secondary in 2005 offering Arts and Science courses.
