History

It was 1898, the waves of revolution of wemen's education of Pandit Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar were arrived at the village Mugkalyan of Howrah district. The journey of Mugkalyan Girls' High School was started along with some well-wishers of this prestigious village since 1898. It was founded at the cowshed of Late Sudhir Kumar Ghoshal as Primary Girls' School (from 1 to 4 standerds). Later in the year 1935 the school converted as Mugkalyan Girls' U.P. School and then from 1947 as Mugkalyan Girls' High School. The existing own school building was established in the year 1961. Since then Mugkalyan Girls' High School is in her own promise for the upliftment of wemen's education.
