
Bantul Mahakali High School was established in 1916 in the month of February by a group of Enthusiastic people of village Bantul and its neighboring villages. The school started in a mud-walled room beside “Mahakali Mancha” with 20 students and 3 teachers. In the year, 1923, the school got Government affiliation and named as “Bantul Mahakali Middle English School”. In 1931, the school was shifted to its new building. After independence, the school got its affiliation under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) and named “Bantul Mahakali High School”. The school turned to class – XI school in 1957 and introduced Commerce and Science stream. As the time traversed, it became a secondary school, and then it turned into higher secondary school. Vocational stream, co-education were introduced as well. And it completes its 100 years journey in 2016.
